Salesforce is creating a social network for Toyota owners.

“The auto industry continues to strengthen its ties with Silicon Valley: Toyota and cloud computing company Salesforce have just teamed up to develop Toyota Friend, a private social network to connect Toyota customers and their cars. Toyota Friend will be powered by Salesforce’s network Salesforce Chatter, and will be rolled out first in Japan with electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids in 2012.”
